MLB Betting Preview: 3 Player Props for Tuesday, July 9

Christian Scott let us down yesterday against the Pirates, so we're piping mad and ready to attack the Tuesday MLB card. Check out our 3 player props for July 9 here!

Mike Noblin

The light Monday card was not kind to us, our our only MLB player prop on Christian Scott went up in smoke yesterday. The young fella has good stuff, but it may take him a while to turn that into strikeouts.

The Tuesday card looks juicy and we've found 3 strikeout props that we like quite a bit. Here's what's on tap. Enjoy the action, folks!

Kenta Maeda Under 3.5 Ks (-134)

CLE at DET- 6:40 PM EDT

Something hasn't been right with Maeda since he came to Detroit from Minnesota. The 36-year-old used to be a solid strikeout pitcher, but both his splitter and his slider just don't have the same break that they used to.

Maeda's fastball is also only topping out at around 90 mph, and these big league hitters have been teeing off on it. His ERA is one of the worst in the league at 6.71 and his K-rate against this Guardians squad is just 9.1%.

Cleveland touched up Maeda for 7 earned runs in only two innings of work back on May 7th. The veteran righty managed just one strikeout in that outing. All of the signs point to another Under in this spot.

Carlos Rodon Over 6.5 Ks (-115)

NYY at TB- 6:50 PM EDT

We've cashed in on some Rodon Unders over the last couple of years, but I think it's time to go in the opposite direction. The 31-year-old southpaw is finally healthy and his slider and changeup are looking closer to how they did when he was a Cy Young contender each year.

Rodon has a nice K-rate of 23.7% this season that ranks him in the 60th percentile. His 27.5% whiff rate ranks even better, as it's in the 67th percentile. The New York bullpen has also struggled of late, so look for Aaron Boone to give Rodon a long leash this evening against Tampa Bay.

Speaking of the Rays, they strike out a ton versus lefties. Five Tampa Bay hitters have strikeout rates of 25% or higher. Expect Rodon to get plenty of K chances against guys like Jose Siri, Jose Caballero, and Randy Arozarena.

Brayan Bello Over 5.5 Ks (-103)

OAK at BOS- 7:10 PM EDT

Bello is finally starting to realize his true potential as a big league starter. Even though this is his 3rd year in the big leagues, this kid is still just 25 years old. The young righty possesses one of the best sinkers in the game, and it hits 96 mph on the gun regularly.

The 6'1" 195-pounder is more of a groundball pitcher than a strikeout guy, but he gets a fantastic matchup tonight at home against Oakland. The A's have struggled all year long to put the ball in play against righties. Five Oakland players have K-rates above 26%.

Bello faced the A's back on April 2nd and he struck out 6 in that start. Current form is also in our favor, as Bello has gone over this total number of Ks in 2 of his last 3 outings. Let's play the Over!
