We've cashed in on a few Flexen Unders this season, and this should be another good spot to ride it. The young righty doesn't have dynamic stuff, as his K-rate of just 17.6% is one of the lowest in baseball. Flexen has a pretty decent curveball but not much else.
Cleveland is a team that consistently puts the ball in play, even though they burned us a couple of times last week. The Guardians have 7 hitters with K-rates below 20%, and 3 of those guys strike out less than 14% of the time.
Lastly, we don't expect Flexen to pitch deep into this game. Most sportsbooks have his Outs line at 15.5 and juiced to the Under. His ERA of 5.13 also suggests that he could be headed for a quick exit tonight in Cleveland. Take the Under!
HOU at TOR - 7:07 PM EDT
I've been a fan of Berrios in the past, but something isn't quite right with him this season. His ERA is still good, but his strikeout rate has taken a nosedive in 2024. The 30-year-old righty's whiff rate has also been disappointing, as it ranks in just the 18th percentile.
Berrios also draws a tough matchup against this Houston team. The Astros have been hitting the ball well of late and they're one of the top teams in MLB in WRC+ against righties.
Berrios faced Houston back on April 2nd and he only struck out 2. We'll bank on a similar outcome tonight, especially since 6 Astros strike out less than 19% of the time! Ride the Under train!
LAA at OAK - 9:40 EDT
I was shocked that this line wasn't 6.5 when I checked it this morning. Soriano hasn't been all that impressive lately in the strikeout department, but he should feast against this lowly Oakland lineup.
The 25-year-old righty has a 98 mph sinker that's tough to catch up to, and he can hit 99 on the gun with his 4-seamer. Even though Soriano's K-rate is below average (20.3%), his chase rate is slightly better than average and it ranks in the 52nd percentile.
The A's have one of the highest K-rates in baseball against righties. Five Oakland players strike out at least 25% of the time. Let's win a late-night Over to cap off the Tuesday card!
