Batman Krothers

It's a good time to be a baseball fan - lots of good ball being played, lots of fans getting interested again as more teams are competitive (sorry Cubs fans) and apart from a few stupid rules (7 inning double-headers being the one that really annoys me) there is good reason to be optimistic for the future of the game.

I will note that all the ex-MLB players who played out in the Olympics LOVED the baseball they were using. We've talked about this before as perhaps being the model for MLB to work with as it has some built in stickiness that helps the pitchers grip the ball, but it doesn't do the unhittable crazy things we saw early in the year. Let's hope next season we get the baseball issue straightened out.

Off we go to the K picks…

Yankees @ White Sox, 7:15 pm ET

I think this Field of Dreams game is great for the game - I love the look of the field, the uniforms - everything about it. That said, I think this game is going to be a nightmare for Yankees starter Andrew Heaney. Probably not a great night to be a cornstalk. BetMGM is offering +120 for under 6.5 and I'm going with that to start the night.

Blue Jays @ Angels, 9:38 pm ET

The Angels Shohei Otani has been a great story this year - mostly for his hitting - but he's shown himself to be a very good pitcher. That said, he's struggles a bit against the top lineups and the Blue Jays are an example of that. DraftKings is offering -155 for under 6.5 and that is bet #2 for the day.

Padres @ Diamondbacks, 9:40 pm ET

The Padres' Yu Darvish takes the mound tonight and I expect him to have a great game. According to my predictions he should get between 8-9 strikeouts against this lineup. It's a bit tight, but I can't resist the +128 for over 7.5 being offered up by FanDuel, and that closes out my top 3 bids of the night.

See you again tomorrow – same Bat-time, same Bat-place!
