I’ve been informed by my editor that not everyone finds a high strikeout game “fun” – to those people I say “stick with basketball.”
Marlins @ Nationals, 1:05 pm ET
Given my love of the strikeout, you might think I’d be looking at Max Scherzer in this game, but I’m not. Instead, I’m looking at Trevor Rogers who I think matches up well against this Washington lineup. FanDuel is giving me a +136 on over 6.5 K’s and I’ll take it happily.
Astros @ Rays, 1:10 pm ET
This is more a game for my editor than for me. Rich Hill takes the bump for the Rays and I don’t think it will end well for him. He’s normally around a K an inning, but this is a bad matchup for him. Our friends at SugarHouse Casino have posted the line at 4.5 and I’m taking the under and the -155 that comes with it.
Red Sox @ Rangers, 2:35 pm ET
Mike Foltynewicz I’ve spoken about before as he is someone I’m rooting for to become the dominant pitcher he used to be. He had a great outing against the Angels last time out, giving up 1 run in 5.1 innings, but he didn’t have his K game on – only striking out 4. Maybe he’s becoming more of a strategic crafty pitcher now? Let’s go with that. Given that idea, I’m going to go with the under 5.5 line I see at Unibet at -130 and root for him to take Boston down without the K’s.
