Batman Krothers

Had a good 3-0 night – special thanks to Tyler Mahle for making me look good. Let’s try to keep this rolling…

Yankees @ Indians, 6:10 pm ET

Let’s take a look at Aaron Civale. His first two outings were against the Tigers and went 7+ in both, but only struck out 6. His next game was against the White Sox and he went 6, striking out 4. Doesn’t strike me as a big K guy based on that small sample so let’s look at 2019 (I still don’t count last year as a real season) – 57.2 innings and 46 K. I like his WHIP and ERA numbers – and he may very well beat the Yankees tonight – especially with the slump they are in – but he doesn’t strike me as the guy who will strike out more than 5.5, which is where the line is set. I’m going with the under at -125.

Mariners @ Red Sox, 7:10 pm ET

Nick Pivetta of the Red Sox is your stereotypical 1K/1IP guy and has been his whole career. With these guys it’s more about predicting how far they will go in the game and what the line is. The line here is set at 5.5 – which sounds just about one K too high for my blood. I’m going with the under 5.5 at -152.

Mets @ Cubs, 7:40 pm ET

Joey Lucchesi is starting for the Mets and he should be in the bullpen. He has a great K rate but I imagine it’s going to be a bullpen game, meaning he won’t last more than 3 innings. This is the easiest pick of the day for me as I’m taking the under 4.5 at -125.

That’s right, I’m going with all unders tonight. Reminds me of one of my favorite cartoons growing up – well, at least one of my favorite cartoon intros.

Come back again — same bat-channel — Batman out!
