MLB Friday Strikeout Prop Picks: Krothers likes Michael Wacha, Mike Foltynewicz, and Frankie Montas

Rays @ Yankees, 7:05 pm ET, Orioles @ Rangers, 8:05 pm ET, and Tigers @ A’s, 9:40 pm ET

Batman Krothers

I really hate Charlie Morton – once again he screwed me up. Props go to @Redevolution06 for actually reading what I wrote and appropriately betting the opposite.

Lots of fun matchups today – let’s give this a whirl.

Rays @ Yankees, 7:05 pm ET

The Yankees are struggling at the plate and have lots of strikeouts to show for it. Playing at home may cause them to score more runs, but I don’t think it will stop this K rate. I’m taking Michael Wacha and +100 to go over 4.5 tonight.

Orioles @ Rangers, 8:05 pm ET

Mike Foltynewicz was a favorite of the K Krowd (not a real thing yet – but I’ve always wanted to start a group for those of us who root for strikeouts) in 2018 playing for the Braves and then his velocity seriously dropped, leading to him getting cut last year. This year, new team, fresh start, and renewed fastball speed are giving Rangers fans hope. I’m rooting for him and hope he does well, so I’ll back that up by picking him to go over 4.5 with the -141 line.

Tigers @ A’s, 9:40 pm ET

Frankie Montas, pitching tonight for Oakland, had a miserable time at home against the Dodgers, giving up 7 runs but striking out 4 in 2.2 innings. He followed that up with a strong 6 innings against The Astros, giving up 1 ER but only striking out 5. Why is the line set at 6.5? I suspect it has to do with Detroit and their strikeout prone bats. That said, it seems high given his up and down track record. I’m going to go with the under 6.5 at -152.

Come back again — same bat-channel — Batman out!
