Favorite Pick of the Day:
Red Sox (-175) over Blue Jays
Subway Pick of the Day:
Yankees (-152) over Mets
Are You Sure? Pick of the Day:
Astros (+115) over Rockies
Pick’em of the Day:
Phillies (-110) over Braves
The Skinny:
David Price has not won us any money this year. He’s gone the opposite way every time we ride with him. Not today. The Red Sox are 14-3 in Price’s last 17 starts vs. a team with a losing record and I have total faith he will make quick work of the Blue Jays. . . . This installment of the Subway series features two teams on complete opposite sides of the tracks. The Yankees, off a spot of tea and sweep of the Red Sox in London, look October ready. The Mets are off the rails. And with James Paxton on the bump, things don’t look good for the Mets. The Yankees are 8-2 in Paxton’s last 10 starts. . . . This is an “Are You Sure?” because the Astros are a much better team than the Rockies. Sure, all the trends are in Colorado’s favor, and Vegas knows all. But I’m not buying it. The only justification I can find is that the Rockies are 1-4 in their last five games vs. a right-handed starter. . . . We’ve said this before and it never works, but if the Phillies are serious about making the playoffs this year, this is a very important contest. Aaron Nola on the mound in Atlanta is exactly who you want with the ball in a big spot. The Braves are 1-8 in their last nine games following an off day. Time to make up some ground.
