The Skinny:
With Andrew Albert back soon and the NBA Finals winding down freeing up Greg Frank, this may be my last crack at bat for awhile. At 13-7 my winning record is assured so I’m sticking with runs over wins. And since many of you have work tomorrow, there’s no need to wait up until these games actually end. In Detroit, two starters with sub-3 ERAs lead me to believe this one will stay low-scoring at least through five. . . . The Twins score, the Indians can score, neither Carlos Carrasco nor Martin Perez was good last time out. Tonight both could bounce back with a line of goose eggs, but I’ll take my chances. . . . After two straight losses the Yankees should be ornery against Trent Thornton’s 4.53 ERA. James Paxton was solid last outing coming off the IL, not sure he’ll be as sharp tonight. . . . One of these days, Chris Sale is going to pitch like Chris Sale, but even if that happens tonight, the Bosox could still put up a 5-spot on Jakob Junis (5.35 ERA, although much better recently).
