MLB Thursday: Albert’s Quick Pitches - Rays v Royals, Reds v Mets, Astros v Twins, and Red Sox v White Sox

Andrew Albert

Favorite Pick of the Day:
Rays (-177) over ROYALS

Matinee of the Day
METS (-173) over Reds

Pick’em of the Day:
Astros (-110) over TWINS

Are you sure? Pick of the Day:
WHITE SOX (+164) over Red Sox

The Skinny:
The Rays are 5-0 in their last five road games vs. a left-handed starter and 14-3 in their last 17 after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game. Combine that with the fact the Royals are really bad and you have a favorite pick of the day. . . .  I’ll take midday Thor any day of the week. The Mets are 8-1 in Noah Syndergaard’s last nine starts vs. a team with a losing record. . . .  Sure, the Astros are 1-4 in the last five meetings in Minnesota, but the Astros are just a much better team than the Twins, so I’m taking them in the pick’em. Solely a gut play here, even though the Astros are 8-2 in their last 10 when their opponent scores 5 runs or more in their previous game. . . . Yes, David Price is on the mound for Boston. But he is just 1-2 with a 3.60 ERA this year and Lucas Giolito is back from a two-week hiatus. He went just 2.2 innings in his last outing but did not give up a hit. He’ll be ready.
