The Skinny:
Favorites have been a strength through the first few games of this year. One you can get at a great price tonight is the Brewers. At 4-1, they’re playing great ball and the Reds are 0-4 in Anthony DeSclafanis’ last 4 starts. The over/unders haven’t been good to us this year quite yet, but that’ll change. Look for the over in Toronto with Chris Conroy behind the plate. Over is 5-1 in Conroy’s last six games. With Max Scherzer on the mound, the under is always a good bet, despite how the Phillies have been mashing the ball as of late. If you must, take the Fightins to win at +170. Scherzer is tough but there are no holes in Philly’s order, and Bryce Harper might show up in a big way again. There’s a slim chance that Houston doesn’t get out of Dallas with a win tonight, it’s just a matter of you wanting to pay the steep price for it. Kyle Freeland first-5 under was as close to a lock as it gets last year, while Blake Snell struggled in his Rays season debut after winning the AL Cy Young last season. Not a bad price back to take a flyer on.
