Saturday’s Race Recap from Churchill Downs:

Churchill Downs:

Race 2: 3rd@ 1.88/1

Race 4: 2nd@ 3.00/1

Race 5: 2nd@ 2.20/1

Race 7: 4th@ 8.40/1

Race 8: SCRATCH

Race 9: 1st@ 12.54/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Race 10: 3rd@ 7.33/1

Race 11: 3rd@ 4.09/1

In Race 2, Linebacker stalked and kept on for third while not threatening the winner. In Race 4, we were right to choose against heavily favored Tarifa who finished fourth, but Ice Cold could only manage second today. In Race 5, Shiloh’s Mistress, who was 15/1 on the morning line opened up 1/1 and came with a fine late rally and ended up second as the 2/1 favorite. In Race 7, Knicks Storm stalked a fast pace and continued willingly for fourth. We scratched in Race 8. In Race 9, Just Steel stalked a fast early pace and drew off to his first stakes win at an overlaid 12/1. In Race 10, Central Avenue stalked early and just missed second while not threatening the winner. In Race 11, Stretch Ride raced in between horses and battled gamely for third.

A 12/1 first, two seconds and three thirds from seven selections after a scratch. ALL our picks ran well with the worst one finishing fourth. If you’re gonna go 1 for 7 you need to make it count and that’s exactly what we did thanks to Just Steel.

Let’s close out the week at Churchill downs with a fast main track!

Churchill Downs:

Race 12: A Dollar A Day - 1pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 20/1)

Maidens race 7½ furlongs and I’m siding with a runner who may fly under the radar a bit - A Dollar a Day. This guy took almost no play when debuting at Keeneland in October and broke a step slow and beat nearly half the field that day. He returned to finish third at 24/1 last time out when chasing a fast pace and while his speed figures don’t reflect it, he showed progress that day from his first start. He faces a field that looks to have plenty of speed signed in and he should be moving best late at long odds.

Best of luck to all our members playing Sunday’s races from Churchill Downs!
