Wednesday’s Race Recap from Churchill Downs:

(All odds US)

Churchill Downs:

Race 5: 4th@ 1.13/1

Race 6: SCRATCH

Race 9: 5th@ 6.14/1

Race 10: 5th@ 1.00/1

In Race 5, Going the Distance was pressed early and late and folded to fourth late in the game. In Race 9, Her Ladyship was squeezed at the start and last early. Rallied mildly late for fifth. In Race 10, our Best Bet didn’t break all that well and was hard-used throughout never mounting a serious threat.

Before we get into the Breeders’ Cup, we’ve got a Thursday at Aqueduct with fast/firm conditions and chilly temperatures expected. Let’s get to the action!!

Aqueduct:

Race 7: Carpe’s Dream - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 8/1)

Turf claimers race a mile and a sixteenth and I like a runner here who may get overlooked on the tote board. Carpe’s Dream is just 1 for 12 lifetime but has run his best races in these turf routes and it looks like his connections are finally warming up to that fact. Last time out he dueled for the lead and got beaten a lip on the wire at 24/1. I don’t think he’ll be 24/1 today but the early speed he possesses is a dangerous weapon vs. this bunch. It’s worth noting that his lone win was over this turf course. Low profile connections ensure fair odds.

Best of luck to all our members playing Thursday’s races from Aqueduct!
