Thursday’s Race Recap from Saratoga:

(All odds US)

Saratoga:

Race 2: 4th@

Race 5: SCRATCH

Race 7: SCRATCH

We were impacted by scratches again yesterday as the debuting Paradise Lane was our only starter. Paradise Lane broke well and led til the far turn where she was overhauled by the 2/5 favorite Life Talk and faded to fourth. Yawn. these last two days have been boring with so many scratches. Hopefully that’s over now.

For Friday we’re looking at clear skies with fast and firm conditions. We’re holding onto a slim profit for the Saratoga heading into the final weekend. Let’s get to the action!

Saratoga:

Race 5: Drum Roll Please - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 5/1)

Two-year-old maidens go a mile on the main track. This is a tough distance to make a debut at so I’m not rolling the dice with any of these debut runners but I’m also not going with heavily favored Locked, who got an ideal pace setup last time. Instead I’m going with the hot barn as Brad Cox is somehow going under the radar with a 30% win rate for the meet. Anyway, Drum Roll Please debuted on a day when it poured rain and he faced a pretty salty field including several runners who are now stakes placed. Anyway, he didn’t have anything his way that day and he’s got two strong five-furlong workouts since then. Brad Cox is 7 for his last 12 races at Saratoga for a ridiculous win percentage of 58% and an ‘in the money‘ percentage of 92%. The value looks like it’s “Drum Roll Please” - right here.

Wishing our members the very best of luck as we look to close out our Saratoga meet on a high note!
