Belmont Park / Race 9

Welcome back to another edition of trying to pick the last race at Belmont Park. Excitement is in the air and yes, we are looking at a State-Bred, Maiden 40k, with 12 runners. Per usual we have a few horses listed as AE’s and MTO’s, always double check.

The idea of spreading in Maiden races has lost its appeal to me lately, mainly because it seems like I am able to find a horse to leave out still. With the ML’s being what they are I see two ways to play the last, ALL or SINGLE, in the multi race wagers. I once read, people get thrown off by large fields and run to using all, when putting in a little work can lead to a single.

Whatever floats your boat though, we all bet differently and can have any opinions about how to bet or whom to bet.

My pick is: 3-Jet Set Juliet (6-1)

3 Reasons:

1. Inside Post.

2. Early zip shown first out, even though recent works may not suggest any.

3. Weight / Gomez is legit, meaning I think he will hit the gas to see if the girl can get 5 ½ F hustling.

4. For the most part others have had their shots in here, not all the entries but a few of ran before multiple times. I understand the MSW drop angle, but I’d rather take a shot on beating outside horses, with known connections.

Good Luck, today!
