Race 6 Delta Downs - $35K Maiden Special
2yo fillies going 5 furlongs
1-Teasin Tesla (6/1) is a first time starter and one who has only three posted works. I have witnessed too many times horses with this short of a work tab win. Trainer Brett Brinkman is 14% with first timers and her Dam, Miss Atlantic City, has a 33% win with her debuting foals. 2-Roll Baby (2-1) is a $160K Fasig acquisition by 2021 Into Mischief. She is at Delta via Oaklawn, and I am not betting her. Her recent work of :52.4 plus, she has yet to pass horses in both of her races, makes her unattractive. I am going with 4-Sangria City (3/1) who is trained by Karl Broberg. She had a close miss in her past race where she stayed in front before running out of steam. Her cutback from 6.5 furlongs to 5, will allow Tim Thornton the ability to wire this group. Finally, Broberg has invested a fortune buying a training center in the area and he certainly has a big nut each month, so he has a huge motivation to win at Delta.
Race 8 Parx - $34K Maiden Special
PA bred 2yo’s going 6.5 furlongs
8-Sharp Red Eagle (4/1) debuted on Nov. 29 and was boxed in the lane where he shook free to just miss by a head. Sire Uncle Lino is 0% with prodigy at this class, and out our database, one race horses moving from mcl up to msw are 3/43. Pass. 6-Just Divine (9/2) sire Divining Rod, a solid 25% with msw 2yo 1st starters. Three noteworthy works along with John Servis being 16% with debut horses, put this colt in play. The one to beat and will take a lot of money in this race will be Don Giuseppe (2/1). He has had three races at Parx with increasing Equibase speed figs, plus a solid 1:01 work recently will get him to the wire first. He will go off with such low odds, that I am going to pass this race.
Race 1 Penn National - $27.1K Maiden Special
2yo’s going one mile
Of the seven entered, there are only two worth looking at. 6-Summer Ash (2/1) is an OP shipper who has bounced from msw, wmcl, and mcl races. He has faded badly in all six of his races without passing a horse. I am going with 1-Wish For Peace (4/1) who raced twice competitively at Penn and looked poises to graduate. The connections moved to Charles Town in his last, evidently not caring for that. Tonight, he is back for his third race at Penn and looks fit to win.
