Two, two-year-old stakes races for NY Breds today.

Aqueduct Race 3 – The $100K Notebook Stakes, post time 12:49 pm ET

NY Bred 2yo’s going six furlongs

In our database is 17 State Stakes races for two-year-olds’ this year. This plays out for both the third and ninth races.

Of the 17 State Stakes races, 6 winners come from msw and 5 come from smsw races. Of those winners, two have a 90 or better Equibase score, and each returned with a lower score in their winning race.

Of the four with previous stakes experience, one has exited with a 94 Equibase and he took a reduction in score in his win.

If you are a trends bettor, this will make you think twice about betting 4-Senbei (1/2). Also, two :49 works since his last race doesn’t make you quite as confident. 2-Daufuskie Island (7/2) is one to watch out for. His last race against Senbei was a dud as he went off second in the betting and today gets a barn change to Kelly Breen. He has put in two solid works of late including a last zinger of :35. Expect better from him today. 1-Cool Laoban (8/1) scored a last out win in a $75K smsw on the turf. Very good 1:00 work on November 10th. I’ll pass without dirt racing experience. I’m going with 6-Kenner (8/1) who took to the Belmont track after three previous tries at Parx. His 88 Equibase number in his last is a good jumping off point for improvement today. Two good works of :47 and :48 shows his form and he will look to go gate to wire. Ness/Silvera a 29% prop.

Aqueduct Race 9 – The $100K Key Cents Stakes, post time 3:43 pm ET

2yo NY Bred fillies going six furlongs

5-Cupid’s Heart (7/2) Cupid prodigy 0/11 for 2yo fillies and am not about to buck that trend today. Pass. 6-Classy Edition (9/5) would be tough to go against with Pletcher/Irad combination and a 2/2 record. However, both wins come from off tracks and that type of surface could be her bailiwick. I’m going with #1-Miss Alacrity (9/2) who has proven versatile on and off turf. Her maiden score at Belmont this spring proved her dirt prowess, outing up an 86 Equibase number. Toss in two works of :48 and 1:00 respectively, and she’s game today.

Happy Hunting 😊
