Dumped yesterday here and was hot on Twitter. You should follow.
$48 bet and am under water. To date, $359.00 bet $325.30 -$9.39% roi.
Work to do…
This will be my last on this format until next week. Again, you can look for me on Twitter and I’ll post something of value…if it appears that way.
Although I am not going to officially bet the pick three at Charles Town Races here, I may play it.
$5K claiming 3yo’s+ NWx or NW4 going 4.5f
By the numbers:
#7 Incensed (7/2) has best overall speed, class and next to the best last.
#3 Sleeping Giant (8/1) has best last two cumulatively, second best overall speed and class and best race three back.
#2 Road Guard Post (3/1) has third best overall speed and class, best last and best two back.
My Take:
#4 Bern Cigars (4/1) has stud jockey Bocachica and stud trainer Kim Graci. He will be the one to catch and based on last week, the closers have been at an advantage. Incensed is a Parx shipper and so far with this type, no good. Sleeping Giant is my choice coming from Gulfstream and having the largest per race $$ average…by a tidy sum. Trainer Kevin Joy has started off this abbreviated meet strong with five wins, Almodovar had eleven last week and together, they’re 15%. Last two works have been sharp and he looks ready tonight.
$12.5K Maiden Claimers 3-4-5-6 yo’s
Listening to a podcast recently, the guy spoke of an angle for MCL races that #1 Burren Rocks (7/2) fits. It goes like this….if the dam or her offspring, of a first time starter, have won their first race, play it. In this case, Alozaina, the dam, won her first in an MSW race.
#8 US Millennium (2/1) is a Godolphin KY bred that just missed last out and brings in the highest Equibase number of this field….by a longshot. #9 No More Martinis (6/1) will be closing like a freight train and has a punchers chance.
My Take:
I’ve used the above mentioned formula twice. It hit once for a win and once for a place on a 60/1 shot. I’ll stay with that.
$5K WVa Bred Claiming fillies and mares NWx or NW4 going 4.5f
*note – combined, these seven horses have ran 207 times at CT.
#5 Gin N Spice (7/2) has best overall speed and class by a tidy margin. This, we have found, does not preclude them from blowing the others away, yet it does state a clear advantage. Gray mare also has best two and three back.
#1 Sweet Lady Sue (4/1) has best last and four good works since last out on April 12th
#2 Risksrhighpayislow, great name, (10/1) has second best overall speed and class, best last near best in her last three. She just booked a :36.4 3f work at CT on 5/9. Gets class relief tonight and
#6 Way Ahead Of You (3/1) get Christian Hiraldo back and got a race in before the shutter. Had a freshening on 5/15 and the pressing type can make a little noise.
My Take:
#4 Wolfblade (8/5) with Bocachica is going to take the money in this; however, my dinero is on Ollie Figgins’ Gin n Spice. Ollie had a great week last week and this gray mare will kick off the week on a high note for him.
