12:45est Race 1

$5K Claimers 3yo+ NWS going 5.5 furlongs

Our results in SmartCap using Equibase figures proved disjointed, so am going with an exacta play

#1 Chromium (6/5) gets best last numbers of 87 speed and 84 class. Given his below par overall scores, it is wise not to take a flyer on a 6/5 entry as this.

#4 Jumpn’ James (8/1) scored the best class rating with a 94 and the nearest is 72. In a $5K race with a class rating of 84, this is significant.

# 6 On Fire (6/1) got an overall SmartCap speed score of 82. The closest to this is an overall of 73.

Bet - $3 Exacta Box 1-4-6

1:12est Race 2

$25K AOC for 3yo+ fillies and mares going 1 mile

#7 Crafty’s Dream (6/1) Keeneland shipper happy to be back at Mahining Valley where she’s had solid success going3:1-1-0. This Kentucky bred filly has excellent breeding being sired out of Bodemeister and her mare is Cause She’s Crafy out of Giant’s Causeway. Protected in this AOC event because of her change of states’ racing, she has the best class, best speed and best last numbers by a large margin.

Bet - $100/w $200/p #7

1:40est Race 3

$31.3K Allowance for Ohio bred 3yo+ fillies and mares going 6 furlongs

#6 A Perfect Sky (4/1) outclassed against open Allowance foes last out and has been summarily benched for the past seven weeks. Trainer Robin Schuster 31% off a layoff and this More Than Ready filly just worked a bullet on October 25th here at Mahoning. Jockey Erik Barbaran gets the mount and he should have her on the lead and plenty left in the tank for the stretch.

Bet - $25/w $50/p #6

The rest:

Race 6 - #9 Father Dennis (5/2)

Race 7 - #5 Sarayaka (4/1)

Race 8 - #11 Late Act Jones (5/2)

TimeformUS vs Equibase

For those familiar with both resources, I thought I’d start a spot to compare the two with SmartCap. Every day. TimeformUS gives the pp’s of a race for free and this is todays:

Finger Lakes Race 6

$21K Allowance forNW2 fillies and mares 3yo+ going 6 furlongs

TimeformUS projections:

Equibase Projections:

Relatively similar with both having #6 as best speed, best class and the #7 with best last. Stay tuned….
