October 24th, Finger Lakes in Farmingdale, NY

Great Weather – Sunny 63˚at post time

Candidly, I didn’t consider the track conditions for Belmont yesterday and it showed.

1:10 est Race 1

$19.5K Allowance for NY foaled fillies and mares 3yo+ going 6 furlongs

#1 – Goldtown (8/1) shipper from Woodbine has raced with jockey Davila in the recent past and has had excellent success – a win and a place versus similar. Trainer Ron Breed is 33% wins this meet and with Davila (38% last 10), they’re equally 33%. Lok for her to press the pace and make her move in mid-stretch. Gets class relief at a distance more to her liking.

#4 – Hardstonemelody (7/5) hard to go against this mare who is 16:5-5-2 at Finger Lakes for $88K, yet at this short price, decided to look elsewhere.

Bets - $25/w $50/p #1 $5 Exacta Box 1-4

1:37 est Race 2

$5K Claimers 3yo+ NW in 2019 going 6 furlongs

#2 – Greely’s Farewell (4/5) after running the Equibase numbers thru our SmartCap program in more than one manner, this $75K 9 year old came up head and shoulders above every other entrant. I’m not crazy about betting a 4/5 ml favorite, however, there wasn’t a logical choice past him

Bets $25/w $50/p #2

2:04 est Race 3

$21.65K Allowance for 3yo+ going 5.5 furlongs

#2 – Panama Paul (5/1) 1-2 favorite #5, Imaginar is going to take a lot of money here and perhaps its last two races give good reason for that – won by 9.75 & 7.75 lengths respectively. That said, I keep returning to this Sky Mesa gelding who has eight starts at FL with three wins, one place and one show. He gets a little bit of a cutback and will take the front, control the pace and get up for the win. Trainer/jockey win % is 22 and fits well with this bunch.

2:31est Race 4

$12.5K Maiden Claimers 3yo+ going 6 furlongs

#2 – Bank Gala (3/1) gets far and away the biggest class drop and has been on the bench since June. Just turned in a bullet work going five furlongs in 1:00.4. Jockey Luis Perez getting it done of late hitting 27% wins the last ten days. Projected to track the pace, he should make his move around the turn and set down hard for the drive – his back class coming to the forefront.

Other races:

5 - #5 Tres Charmant (5/2)

6 - #1 Mini Sala (3/1)

7 - #5 Fullfaithandcredit (8/1)
