Gorgeous Fall Day 63̊
> I made a call around 8:00p last night to my priest, here’s how it went…
Me: “Hey Father, it’s RT. Did you say that extra prayer for New Orleans like I asked after Mass today?”
Priest: “Did they cover? (he’s quite aware of gambling-speak)
Me: “Let me put it this way, Mitch Trubisky sucks.”
Priest: “How much of your winnings will be donated to the church?”
---DEAD SILENCE ----
Priest: “RT?” “RT?” click…
> From the “still no vaccine for dumbass,” more news surfaces on Antonio Brown. Evidently his mother never told him to shut up to keep from being in trouble… This time, it’s $30M worth of idiocrasy.
2:04 est Finger Lakes Race 3
$21.1K Allowance for 3yo+ NW3 on dirt
#4 - JJ’s Dreaming (5/2) third race off a layoff and fourth of the year, this five year old gelding is finally coming into form. In his last two, he had gate troubles, ran up to the leader and tired. Today, he gets a small turnback in distance and jockey Jeremios Flores gets his third crack at crossing the finish line first.
#3 – Marble Moon (8/1) ended up thru our SmartCap program with best last numbers and has seem to caught a couple of dodgy track conditions last two. He put in a strong finish last out and it was too late.
#1 – Seven X Tippet (5/1) not including John Davila Jr. in your exotics for allowance races is not a smart move.
Bets - $30/w $60/p #4 $2 exacta box 4-3-1
2:31 est Finger Lakes Race 4
You gotta love the name of The $50K Shesastonecoldfox Stakes
2yo NY bred fillies going 6 furlongs on dirt
#1 – Thea’s Theme (5/1) broke her maiden first out in a $78K msw, then fast tracked to a $150K stakes at Belmont, race where she fired well and didn’t sustain the class level. Today she drops into a class that should be in her sights. Luis Colon (24%) up and Jeremiah Engelhart (23%) trains. Together, they’re a 36% win prop.
The danger is the #5 – Single Verse. Dylan Davis in town to ride and has been competitive in every race. There will be an awful lot of money on the #3 because of her only race where she won by 13 lengths. To belabor the point of that race, consider this – you’re a jockey on a baby two-year-old, an owners’ dream, whom they picked up, perhaps, at auction and have high hopes. You’re riding in that race and you see a horse get away from you. Do you ride your mount hard, or let them go and wait for another day? I submit the jockeys let the 3 go and he traveled unabated.
Bets - $25/w $50/p #1 $5 exacta box 1-5
3:25est Finger Lakes Race 6
$15K AOC for NY Bred 3yo+ fillies and mares going 1 mile and 70 yards
#5 – Investment Invite (4/1) lost her rider two back at this level, moved up to The Arctic Queen Stakes where she was a beaten favorite and now drops back into this company. Trainer Christopher Progno having a nice run of late, 33%, and jockey Oscar Gomez is firecracker hot the last ten days hitting 36%. This 4yo filly a lover of Finger Lakes going 17:5-6-0 for $83K.
Happy Monday.
