Paramount Pictures has announced it is postponing the release of A Quiet Place Part II, the sequel to the hit 2018 John Krasinski-Emily Blunt thriller about a family’s attempts to stay alive in a post-apocalyptic world patrolled by blind space aliens with hyper-intense hearing abilities.
The sequel was scheduled to open March 20 in the U.S. A new date has not been revealed.
Paramount released the following statement about the decision to hold off on the movie’s release:
“After much consideration, and in light of the ongoing and developing situation concerning coronavirus and restrictions on global travel and public gatherings, Paramount Pictures will be moving the worldwide release of ‘A Quiet Place Part II. “We believe in and support the theatrical experience, and we look forward to bringing this film to audiences this year once we have a better understanding of the impact of this pandemic on the global theatrical marketplace.”
The Quiet Place II postponement follows that of the next (25th) James Bond flick, No Time to Die. Starring Daniel Craig as the indestructible secret agent 007, the picture, which was scheduled to open April 10, will now premiere Nov. 25.
