5 Players You Need On Your DraftKings Best Ball Team

Essential Picks for Dominating Your DraftKings Best Ball Draft

Mitchell LeBrun

When building out your DraftKings Best Ball roster, hitting on players with explosive potential can win you the league. We’ve sifted through the fantasy drafts boards, run through mock drafts, and found our favorite players. Finally, finding our top 5 players to draft. Bring you a mix of top-level talent and great value. With players who all have the potential to be league-winning picks!

Drake London WR

They finally got this man a quarterback; in fact, they got him two! Drake London has been one of the most impressive young wide receivers trapped on a pathetic offensive team. He’s been stuck with Marcus Mariota, Desmond Ridder, and Taylor Heinicke passing him the ball under a pathetic coaching staff. Not anymore. Now he has Cousins and Penix in the backfield, a new head coach, and an offensive coordinator. Atlanta has finally decided to get serious about football again finally.

London looks to be the unchallenged WR1 for Atlanta following Rondale Moore's season-ending injury. As a guy on the rise, he’ll likely be a top option in this offense, flanked by Kyle Pitts and Bijan Robinson. London will be at the top of this list in terms of explosive jumps in fantasy productivity. Being drafted alongside players like Marvin Harrison Jr., he’s a clear-cut 2nd round pick with elite potential. We don’t think you can go wrong betting on London this year!

Brian Thomas Jr. WR

We’ve brought Brian Thomas Jr up in other fantasy articles, but he’s back again because he’s just that exciting of a prospect. As a rookie, he’s a mystery, but if his college and combined numbers are anything to go by, he could be great. At 6’3 209, he ran a 4.33 40, the man is a rare blend of size, strength, and speed reminiscent of DK Metcalf. With Christian Kirk returning from injury, Thomas could find a high position in the receiver lineup early. He has the tools to do it, too. In his junior year at LSU, he put up 1100 yards and 17 in 13 games. The talent is there for him to break out into an impactful player on this Jacksonville offense.

The best part is Brian Thomas is going low in drafts. He doesn’t have the recognition from average NFL fans yet, making him a steal if you see him late around pick 90 to 100. He is a guy who is worth taking a flyer on. At a much lower cost, his ceiling could be near higher rookie WRs like Rome Odunze or Thomas’ former teammate Malik Nabers. We can’t emphasize how much we believe in Thomas as a fantasy target!

Baker Mayfield QB

Baker Mayfield might be the best value QB in fantasy this year. Following one of the best seasons of his career in Tampa, he is shockingly undervalued. Still paired up with one of the best receivers in the league, Mike Evans, Baker will still have a solid core of offensive players around him. Playing in a weak NFC South division, Atlanta is the only team that has made real improvements.

However, more competition in the division might be a good thing for Baker’s production. Tampa’s defense will likely be in the middle of the road this year, at best. This is exactly the combination of weak defense and strongish offense you want in a quarterback. Hopefully, they’ll be playing from behind a lot, meaning Baker can air it out and rack up those juicy yards

This being said, we probably wouldn’t run with Baker as our first QB option. He’d get the job done, but you don’t want all your eggs in the Baker basket. We’d recommend that he’s your deep second QB pick, giving you the flexibility to chase other solid WRs and RDs with your higher picks.

Derrick Henry RB

It feels like every year we say the same thing about Derrick Henry, “This has to be the year he drops off.” Entering his 9th year in the NFL, Derrick Henry hasn’t slowed down yet. In fact, he may be in one of the best positions of his career on an elite Ravens team. The pairing between Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry is a coach's dream come true, providing an elite duel-threat ground game. We’ve seen RBs thrive in Baltimore in the past, too. Gus Edwards had a career last year in Baltimore with nearly a 1000 yards of offense and 13 touchdowns.

In terms of fantasy value, Derrick Henry may be slept on this year. As an elite true RB1 option, he’ll receive the ball plenty and have loads of goal-line rushing attempts. The only thing that looms over the Pro Bowl is health concerns. With such a long career and so many hits, it has to take a toll, but if there is anyone to believe in, it’s Henry.

David Njoku  TE

Coming off his best year and landing him as the fifth-best tight end last season, Njoku should be high on your radar. Most people pass up on the pro bowler even after an elite year. He’s a high-impact, lost-cost option for your team that you can get later in the draft. Even with the addition of Jerry Juedy, Njoku should have a strong season ahead of him. Providing a solid target for a shake QB situation in Cleveland. The only possible drawback is the possibility of Brandon Aiyuk being traded to Cleveland. Which, as of the time of writing, seems like a slim possibility at best.

Overall, Njoku is coming into his prime this season. The 28-year-old has shown steady improvement year over year. With a strong injury track record for the last three years, he’s a safe pick with a high upside. In a year seemingly stacked top to bottom with great tight-end options, Njoku might be one of the best values in the draft!

Conclusion

We hope you can snag at least one of these guys in your fantasy draft because we are all in on them! DraftKings Best Ball can be a brutal draft, so we hope by isolating a few players for you, you’ll be able to kill it in your next draft.
