The Wednesday Philly Props: Phillies Home Runs, Harper, Realmuto, Hernandez

Bob Vetrone

Looks like the Phillies finally have their Big Boy Pants back on as far as their offense goes. They have hit four home runs each of the first two games against the Mets. They have never doneso for three consecutive games.

Six different players have those eight dingers so far this week, so we thought about going with the three regulars who did not homer Monday or Tuesday. Then the numerological gods shined upon us . . .

Bryce Harper last went deep on Saturday, June 22 . . . and Cesar Hernandez exactly a week before that (June 15) . . . and J.T. Realmuto exactly a week before that (June 8). Yes, the thought that maybe we should wait until Saturday to wager on them crossed our minds . . . right up until the time we checked the schedule and saw the Mets would be long gone by then.

New York starter − and sports journalism lover − Jason Vargas had gone four straight games without allowing a homer, but has surrendered one in each of his last two starts.
