The Sunday Philly Props: U.S. Women, Carli Lloyd, Julie Ertz

We don’t know how you felt about “13-0” and the corresponding celebrations – we had no problem with either, by the way – but the bottom line is some people made some money on a lot of Overs.

Personally, the cashbox hit here with Overs of 6.5, 7.5, 8.5 and 9.5, turning $10 into over $40.

And if they had stopped there, we wouldn’t have won the Carli Lloyd to Score the Last Goal Prop (which we did). Our very uneducated guess was many of the 13 were due to her teammates trying to help the 36-year-old Lloyd keep her World Cup goal-scoring streak (now at five matches) alive.

Unless Sweden unleashes a couple of touchdowns on Thailand three hours before the U.S. takes to the pitch against Chile (bringing the tie-breakers of goal differential and goals scored into possible play), it’s safe to say the Americans will not roll another double-digit onto the scoreboard. But it is safe to think they get into the high crooked numbers.
