The Saturday Philly Props: Saturday

Bob Vetrone

When a three-point sharp-shooter gets in a rut and can’t throw it in the ocean, sometimes the best thing for him is a layup.

There are not many layups in betting. That’s why it is called gambling. But with the Philly Props having as dry a spell as can be imagined this week, a simple layup is about all we’re willing to go for Saturday.

The Phillies seem to have once again shaken off the offensive doldrums and gotten back into the rhythm with the bats, especially on the road. They are averaging 5.6 runs over their last 10 games away from Citizens Bank Park.

The Brewers allowed 12 runs in Jhoulys Chacin’s last start (five innings, eight hits, three runs), which was a week ago Friday. His career ERA with six or more days of rest before a start is 4.14 (29 games).

Pick: Phillies Over 4.5 Runs (-106)
