In case you have missed it, we are having a simply terrible Props Week at Wrigley Field. How bad? How about 2-11 bad! So, we hereby allow you to go against what we have below or just ignore it and meet up with us in Milwaukee Friday night.
We know Aaron Nola hasn’t been Aaron Nola a lot this season, but the Phillies have won his last four starts and they haven’t allowed more than four runs in any of his last five outings. So, let’s start with a Cubs Under 4.5.
Jon Lester, as we pointed out in Thursday’s Single Digits, owns the Phillies (8-0, 1.49) and his teams (Red Sox, Cubs) have allowed the Phils fewer than five runs in eight of his 10 starts. So, that’s a Phillies Under 4.5
We are avoiding the Under on Total Runs (9.5) just in case one pitcher falters and we end up on a 12-1 game. Gotta think at least one of these starters will bring their “A” game.
Let’s hope it is Nola. In fact, let’s parlay a double-digit K performance by him with a Phillies win. He tied a career high with 12 strikeouts in six innings in his last start Saturday against the Brewers and notched 11 punchouts (in 5.2 innings) the last time he faced Chicago (Sept. 2, 2018). At least if this parlay comes in, we can recoup some of the money we lost on the North Side of the Windy City this week.
Pick: Phillies Under 4.5 Runs (-103)
Pick: Cubs Under 4.5 Runs (-120)
Pick: Nola 10+ Strikeouts & Phillies Win (+650)
