The Monday Philly Props: Phillies Early, Peralta

Bob Vetrone

We are being pulled in two different directions Monday,

Since April 15, the Phillies are 1-7 in opening games of series and 13-4 in the remaining games of the series. That was after they had won their first five series openers of the season.

Also since April 15, the Phillies have allowed a total of one run each in the first two innings of the last 12 home games. And with the 10-run first against the Mets on April 16, they are out-scoring the visitors 25-2 over those first two home frames.

So, let’s not go for anything win-related based on the former, but the Phils sure could have a lead in the early going based on the latter.

And did we mention Milwaukee starter Freddy Peralta has a 27.00 ERA in the first inning this season (15 ER/5 IP)? That is up from his already-high 7.98 first-inning ERA last season (13/14.2).
