Well, whether Embiid manages to give it the old Willis Reed effort Saturday or not, it says here the fates of the Sixers’ early postseason success rests on the shoulders of another player:
Jimmy Butler.
With the possible exception of Embiid – who has played about as much basketball recently as I have – no Sixer shows his raw emotion during a game quite like No. 23. Bringing it all day in the NBA Postseason Opener is right up his alley.
Philly’s points are going to have to come from somewhere and the best bets are Butler and JJ Redick. We’ll save JJ for another day. In Game 1, we are going all in on Jimmy Buckets.
