The Philly Props: Flyers

Third Period Over

Bob Vetrone

As my friend @CraigyD127 writes in his NHL Monday preview, the Flyers and Senators have blasted the Over in their last five meetings. Since he has that covered, we thought we’d take a look at the score by periods for those games.

While the teams have combined for 12 goals in both the first and second periods of those five games, they really amp it up over the final 20 minutes of regulation. In order, they have combined for 3, 2, 5, 4 and 3 goals in the last stanzas. That is 17 goals or an average of 3.4 per period.

Even if you go back to the last Under between the clubs, that third period yielded a pair of tallies, which just happens to be the Third Period O/U here. Six non-losing periods in a row means we open the wallet just a little wider.

Pick: Flyers-Senators Third Period Over 2 ($12/-120)
